🏆 Tournament Details

• Format: 5 Rounds McMahon System
• Time Control: Fischer Time – 45 minutes basic time + 15 seconds additional time per move (subject to revision based on player count).
• Rules: Japanese / EGF Rules, Komi 6.5 points.
• Prizes: Cash prizes and special gifts for top scorers. Additionally, the most successful eligible players (based on gender quotas) will earn the prestigious right to represent Europe at the World Students GO OZA Championship in Tokyo, Japan!

📝 Who Can Play? (Eligibility)

The championship is open to all student players who meet the following criteria:

• Must be an amateur Go player (no professional status).
• Must be a full-time student at a university or college (Students starting in September 2026 are eligible with enrollment proof).
• Must be older than 16 and younger than 30 years old as of August 1, 2026 (Born in 1997 or later).
• Must hold citizenship of an EGF (European Go Federation) member country.
• Must be an active player, having participated in at least one EGD-rated tournament in the last 12 months.

🏨 Accommodation Options

• 🛏️ IZTECH Student Dormitories: Complimentary accommodation will be provided to participants in the university student dorms during the tournament. Photos and room details will be announced soon.
• ⛺ Camping Area: For nature lovers, safe and designated spaces are available around the campus perimeter to pitch your own tents.
• 🏡 Urla Surroundings: Players wishing to arrange private accommodation can look for charming boutique hotels or Airbnb options in Urla center or along the beautiful coastline close to campus.

✈️ Travel & Logistics

Primary Airport:

The most direct and convenient way is flying into Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB).

Flights via Istanbul:

If your international flight lands in Istanbul (IST or SAW), you can easily catch a 1-hour domestic connecting flight to Izmir (ADB).

Airport to Campus:

From Izmir Airport, you can reach the IZTECH Urla campus via taxi or private shuttle services (approx. 40 minutes travel time).

Friday, September 18:

Teos Ancient City & Sığacık Trip (13:00 – 18:00)
Located ~36 km from Urla, Teos is one of the most mesmerizing Ionian cities, featuring the famous Temple of Dionysus, a well-preserved ancient theater, and harbor ruins. We will conclude the tour with a breathtaking sunset at Sığacık Bay.

Other Nearby Attractions:

Klazomenai (famous for ancient olive oil workshops in Urla), the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ephesus (58 km away), or the historical Agora underground market in Izmir center.
